Katrina Truth-Research on the Hurricane Katrina Disaster is by far, one of the best researched, documented and news-covered site about the Hurricane Katrina Disaster.

I highly recommend this site to one and all.

Great job, Katrinatruth!

Keep Alito Off the Bench & You Can Help!

Dailykos is not taking the weekend off in fighting to get the Democrat Party in filibustering Alito thank God. Folks, Alito is seriously bad for our entire nation. Really bad.

Please join them and if you need the DNC, DSCC and your Senators phone numbers, click here.

I tip my hat at how hard the non-neocon/non-radical Republican bloggers are working. Democrats up on the Hill had better listen because this is such a significant event, many Dems are certain to loose seats if they don't back Senator Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and others in filibustering Alito.

Special BRAVOs to those fighting on the frontlines like Mike Malloy over at AirAmerica...

Mike Malloy Wins New York A.I.R. Awards!

Mike Malloy "Speaking the truth to Power."

If you haven't heard of Mike Malloy, well, he's one of the best nightly Air America Radio online and XM radio station talk radio host around, along with Randi Rhodes and so many others fighting to get the truth out.

Malloy has been around for almost 20 years and according to his website, it's won him admirers (self included) as well as awards. All I know is I'm a huge fan and don't know where I'd be without him some nights.

Speaking of awards, Mike has won the March of Dimes A.I.R. Achievement in Radio Award in New York for "best talk radio show of the year."

Liberal Chrystie is sending out a special congratulations to Mike, his wife Kathy and Molly! Thanks for hanging-in there for folks like myself.

If you'd like to hear Malloy's archived shows, head over to The White Rose Society. To learn more about this historically significant society and how they got started during the World War II era, head over to the Wikipedia free encyclopedia online and read-up on the history of this nonviolent resistant group. They were brave freedom-fighters during the Nazi regime period.

In Memory of Hans, his sister Sophie Scholl, Christoph Probst, Alexander Schmorell and Willi Graf, executed for participating in a resistance movement against the Nazi regime through "White Rose." All were in in their early 20's, and students at the Munich University. It's noted that all but Sophie were war veterans fighting on the "French and Russian fronts."

Thanks to Wikipedia.org.

They Really Thought They Were Free: Nazi Germans

And they did...

Read more of this sad, historic, WWI period at "The Third Reich: They Thought They Were Free," by Milton Mayer. Of German and Jewish descent, he describes how his life went from a "decent man," to total Nazi. He would later become an American journalist.

"Kudos" to RCD, the Web Host for the "Third Reich Roundtable" web site.

DID YOU KNOW: Time Magazine named Adolf Hitler as "Man of the Year" in 1938 because he was "applauded wildly and ecstatically by most Germans." And added, "Hitler became in 1938 the greatest threatening force that the democratic, freedom-loving world faces."

"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out.
Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out.
And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."

But, right now the founder of this site needs our help.

Did You Know: It's one of the top 30 web sites on the Internet, and it was accomplished (2005) spending less then $750,000.00 growing rapidly, it's offered in other languages, to boot!

You can donate using Paypal, other methods, calling an 1-800 number or snail-mail.

"As a candidate for Secretary of the Commonwealth, I will support citizen efforts aimed at bringing our Massachusetts National Guard troops home from Iraq. We must fight to end this illegal and unconstitutional war and bring our troops home now."

Folks. When I hit the internet in search of the truth right after the Nov. 2004 elections (I knew something horrible had happened again in my beloved county), these were the first people I found. Because I knew Al Gore won in 2000, and Senator John Kerry won by a landslide, till Fox News made that announcement just minutes before midnight on Nov. 2, 2004.

I don't know where I'd be without the likes of Mr. Bonifaz.

Political Pundit Chris Matthews Owes Americans an Apology

Political Pundit Chris Matthews Owes Democrats & Americans an Apology

A new site has hit the Internet air-blogs. It's an open letter to MSNBC's Chris Matthews of Hardball. The url is: http://openlettertochrismatthews.blogspot.com/

Yes, it seems Matthews creating a real stir among his "other half," namely democratic Americans.

In recent days Matthews equated Democrats, Michael Moore, and any American against the war in Iraq to the yet-to-be-found-all-but-forgotten-except-under-strange-cirumstances-and-odd-coincidentally-timed-terrorist, Osama Bin Laden.

Congressional Representative Louise Slaughter has great concerns over Matthews' comments and so do a lot of other Americans - like more then half the country, self included!

Yes, Chris Matthews... When you made those statements comparing critics of the Bush administration to the likes of Bin Laden, you joined the ranks of Fox News' O'Reilly.

Way to go, Chris. You blew-it!

I'm with Rep. Slaughter, and the folks that created Open Letter to Chris Matthews Blog Spot finding his remarks way over the top, horribly reckless, filled with cruel political rhetoric, way past absurb, and extremely offensive!

I think it's another harmful way to divide Americans still further. And, I'm profoundly mystified by these events, as much as everything going on in our country. Is it just me? This is scary, and closely resembles how the Hitler era began. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone, not the US of A.

So, until Chris Matthews apologies to Democrats for these horrible statements, and I mean a sincere, heart-felt apology on-the-air, I'll never watch MSNBC again and sway from their advertisers.

Read all about it here and here.

John Kerry's Blogging W/All at Daily Kos!

Daily Kos: Real Hardball: "That's reason to be outraged - but even more outrageous is the fact that in a flurry of sound bites what was lost was a real discussion of the fact that more than four years after the devastating attacks of 9/11, more than four years after George Bush boasted we wanted Osama 'dead or alive,' more than a year after Osama Bin Laden showed his hateful face in yet another video, this barbarian is still very much alive and boasting of additional attacks against the United States."

Read Senator John Kerry's diary, too at Daily Kos. And while you're at it - send him your thoughts.

And, he has a new book out called Hostile Takeover.

Has She No Shame: Katherine Harris vs. Ben Nelson

According to today's headline story from The HuffingtonPost, Katherine Harris is seriously low on campaign money, but, hey... that won't stop Florida's Gov. Jeb Bush from stacking the election votes in her favor.

Even though Democrat Bill Nelson has 6 million for his campaign, compared to Harris at about 1 million or so, though it's hard to tell the way the article is written. Comments are coming-in, just the same.

You figure it out (She gave herself ? 250k, but raised over 1 million):

AP Writer, Brendan Farrington (Yahoo Article)

"Fundraising has also gone slower than she expected and she acknowledged Saturday that she gave her campaign $250,000 during the final quarter of last year. She said, however, that she raised more than $1 million in other cash contributions — double the amount she raised in her first quarter of fundraising."

When asked how she felt compared to (D) Nelson's 6 million in the bank since September, Harris reportedly stated, "We know that when we turn out the Republicans, we'll be victorious."

Ah-ha! Obviously "more" Floridians have already placed their money on the candidate they want to represent them, "Ben Nelson." Yet, Harris sure seems like it's a shoe-in.

Interesting.

Has she no shame after the 2000 Presidential election?

"There is no crisis today that justifies suspending the constitution. There is a constitution in effect today. That constitution has endured for over 200 years.

Bush's cry of 'crisis' is as false as former Chief Justice Rehnquist's (and four other Justices) cry of crisis. Each time both Rehnquist and Bush tried to set aside the Constitution to get an illegal result."

Students Asked to Spy on Liberal Professors

Capitol Weekly: Bruin Alumni Association Targets 'Radical' Faculty

Just when one thinks they've heard it all - you got to think again in these times.

A group calling themselves the Bruin Alumni Association published a list of professors from UCLA online at their website. The BAA is distributing to the public teachers whom do any of the follow:
  • one can't stop talking about Bush
  • the Iraq war
  • the Republican Party
  • ideals not in step with the BAA group named above, namely Republican opinions
The group offers $100 to anyone willing to turn in professors, if they do any of the above. The last I read of such actions was when reading of the Getstapo - the Hitler era on the History Channel & in plenty of history books.

The list is at www.uclaprofs.com.

I'm sorry, but, what was that about "morals" and "values?"

Anyone...?

===============================================
~ UPDATE ~

Googled The Bruin Alumni Association at the UCLA.

The Daily Bruin's Online Article

Andrew Jones graduated from UCLA back in 2003 with a degree in "political science," and a minor in "public policy." A conservative, he wasn't happy with the campus atmosphere, and left behind quite a bit of complaints, according to the article aforementioned. Calling the campus a "cancer of political radicalism," Jones accused the chancellor, and alumni associates of "hiding issues from donors." Upset over what "can" and "can not" be said in the classrooms, his main objective is targeting the university's strongest areas which include outside fundrasing and the alumni itself.

According to the Daily Bruin, Mr. Jones states, "I want this to be as broad a voice as the UCLA Alumni Association, and perhaps even UCLA itself."

Also noted, Jones was chairman of the Bruin Republicans while in attendance at UCLA, and a former colomnist for the Daily Bruin. With an advisory board of conservative activists, possibly four campus professors, and a Republican Senator.

It appears Mr. Jones is not a present-day student at UCLA, and is trying to change policies on the outside, in a political manner.

A poster over at DU has laid out Al Gore's 5 Point Plan to save America, in case you missed his speech today. They include:

1. A bipartisan call for appointment of a special council
2. Whistleblower protections for officials
3. Hearings on presidential power abuse
4. Kill the PATRIOT act
5. Telecom companies should stop spying

Read more here.

Al Gore Spoke Today at the DAR in DC

Al Gore Speaks the Truth for all Americans
Watch the Video - now up online.

It's time we bring out country back to what she truly stands for: Freedom, Democracy - it's the American way.

The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either. Benjamin Franklin

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves. Abraham Lincoln

Al Gore's Speech:

Sadly, the M$N will more then likely not talk much about this today, or any day. Of course if they do, it will be in the negative. And to think, the Republican voters of American fell for that propaganda crap that "the media is liberal." Oh, Bull! You don't fall for that crap any longer I hope.

Al Gore spoke for this American today and I thank him, greatly! We really need leaders to speak out like never before "now," before it's really too late. It gives me great comfort to know I'm not alone with my fears and worries of losing our Bill of Rights, and our Constitutional rights, as well.

I've sat back and watched as my country slopes downwards daily into a Hoover-like scenario. "Dishonesty is rewarded." Yes, Mr. Gore, sir, you got that right, quoting from his speech.

We now live in a "culture of corruption" - the 2 hottest issues are just that, the war & corruption on a massive scale now.

As he spoke today from the Constitutional Hall of our DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) in Washington, D.C., he spoke of the domestic surveillance taking place on "we the people," and the loss of our freedoms. You do know that as Americans we could go straight to jail if we say something against the President or the war, particularly Democrats. This is not the American way I know, rather a horrible tragedy placed upon us.

What did we do wrong? Why does my own government hate me?

Gore quoted "George Orwell." Amazing. I just bought this book last week! If you haven't read or heard of Orwell, I suggest you catch-up on who he was, and what he predicted in his book 1984, and it's happening now, right here in America. Read the book online freely, here.

Bush announced at a speech that Americans should basically punish Democrats if they speak out against the war and him. What kind of President that is suppose to defend our Constitutional rights, our liberties, our freedoms and yes all of us Americans, say such a thing? Is he calling for other Americans to do just that - to punish us? No. How any Republican voter can sincerely wish this upon their fellow Americans, I ask. Am I to assume all Republicans that voted for Bush, and still support him have children, and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and relatives that all agree with them. And if they don’t, they’d standby and watch their loved-ones be treated as such? I think not. Maybe many Americans do not know what’s going on because they’re too busy working, surviving economically, so they don’t keep-up with current events. It’s possible I suppose, but is it probable?

Why kind of President who takes an oath on the Bible to protect, defend and represent all Americans, regardless of whether we voted for him or not, turn brother against brother, friend against friend - and he has, and most know it. Our country was "united," as in "The United States of America." Since Bush took office, we seem to be tossed into a cycle of fear, despair, and urged to turn against Democrats, and folks this is bad – we are in trouble if we continue to allow our leaders to do as much.

Note: As Americans, we don't own the Bible, it belongs to many religions around the globe, and has been in existance long before we got our hands on her. Click here to read about the Bible.

Its heart wrenching - the events this administration is placing up Americans like never, ever before. And don’t blame it on Clinton. He hasn’t been President in over 5 ½ years. As well, don’t blame the Democrats in Congress. They have doors slammed in their faces from important meetings; they are powerless because they are in the minority vote-wise, both on the House and Senate floors of Congress – yet, Democratic Congressional members represent more Americans then the GOP. Were cows voting in the last elections? Because many voters were not allowed to vote in the 2000 elections - the proof is overwhelming.

Seriously, isn’t that just odd?

I suggest you look up the word, Fascism. It's far from American's values, and if you have any morals about you, you'll realize all of this is absolutely wrong and we're not heading in the wrong direction, we're already there.

Our democracy is in crisis mode and Al Gore knows it, as most Americans know now. That's why he is speaking today with the groups listed below. I recommend visiting those links and while you're at it, grab a copy of a pocket-sized Constitution. Barnes and Noble sell them online, and by their stores front door, at least in my area. Amazon has them online, too.

Read what one-time President Jimmy Carter says about the loss of our Constitution and rights over the last several years and how we're in deep trouble, in his new book "Our Endangered Values: Americans Moral Crisis."

If you missed Gore's speech today, head over to C-SPAN1 and watch today’s clips of his great speech.

Just Say NO to the Alito Nomination

Nomination Watch

This is a good site I found that's an "easy read" for anyone watching the Judge Alito Supreme Court nomination.

Run by the National Women's Law Center, it's very insightful. If you value freedom & liberty, and regardless of your views on abortion, rather you feel a woman has a right to choose, checkout this site.

And while you're at it, clicking HERE will send a message of "NO" to Alito. Don't do it for your idealogy, do what's right for the entire country. A man wouldn't want a women telling him what he can and can not do with his body and his most intimate part of his life, anymore then a women does either.

Once we go backwards in our lifestyles in a "civilized" nation, we're doomed to repeat our pasts. Haven't we evoled more then that? Would Jesus have you cast the first stone at one of your fellow human beins?

The Democratic Underground

After the stunning election of Bush in November of 2004, my flabbergast was left all over my bedroom floor. It was about 10 minutes before midnight and as I channel-switched around, from every major news station on the tube, I couldn't believe my eyes when a victory was suddenly called for Bush. Shocked, I went to bed assuming it was all one big mistake. After all, Wolf of CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and MSNBC all called a victory for Senator Kerry of MA.

The next day, after returning from college I hurried to the tube new-feeds and was even more shocked, well, I was sickened to hear Bush as he gave that infamous victory speech where he said something like "I've got my mandate, going to spend it on whatever I please and either you're with me or..." Well, my heart sunk. How could a President speak to my fellow Americans as if we were now the enemies? This was what he said during that other speech from the House or Senate floor, when he was preparing to take us into a war against Afganastan. He said those words to other countries that did not back us up. Now, he was saying this to us.

Since then, nothings been the same. Never in my wildest (nightmares) did I ever think I'd see my President speak in such a manner. So, in total desperation for some sort of rationale I hit the Internet. It's no great pleasure to admit I soon found I wasn't alone, rather on the contrary. People were way ahead of me. But, I lost a few years there because my husband died in a tragic, unexpected accident. So here I was, finally returning to life to a world I had abandoned during my sad, long lonesome journey only to find the world outside had changed for the worse.

During my internet serch for the "truth," I found Truth.org. From there came many, many other websites, some listed on the right sidebar. But the place I found where I could not only hang-out with others as upset and bewildered as I and actually speak my mind, and read other's thoughts (some extremely well-versed & in-the-know) was the Democratic Underground. At first I lingered about, lurking in the background afraid... when I think of that now, I can't imagine why I was so frightened. After all, I was born free - an American through and through tied to the red white and blue. But there I was, terrified of being - I dunno, lynched by these Right-Wing fanaticals. As a History major I still find it hard to believe how scared I was.

But, I'm not afraid anymore. No. I was born free. And no one is going to take that away from me. I don't break the law. Rarely do I drive over the speed-limit, though everyone else is always passing me on the highways and that's when I am going slightly over the limit - go figure. I respect everyone above myself, and treat others as I'd want them to do unto me, even when they don't. I make mistakes just like the next guy and gal, but never intentionally. But, as an American, can one imagine being afraid to speak my mind, to voice my God-given right, and American born right to freely feel and say whatever. When one grows-up knowing the "golden rule," isn't that enough? Apparently now according to some.

Now, I watch from the side lines as our civil liberties, and rights are on a fast-track to hell and for the life of me I don't understand why? It's as if they hate us. Oh, I want to protest. I really, really do as does everyone I know - of all ages, and backgrounds. Yet, as hard as it seems, everyone is either waiting for others to start so they can follow, or they're afraid and that's truly sad. If Liberal Chrystie has a friend to go with, she's certainly go to Washington and hold a sign to protest this bad admininstration (worse ever, honestly!). Maybe she'll gather up her courage and go it alone. Lord knows she's ready too 'cause, she misses her country.

When we give-up our freedom and liberties, we give-up of our souls and the terrorists win.

What has become of my country I once knew? Why has the GOP gone mad? Why does my President wish to listen to me on the telephone? Why? We're not the enemies. I thought we were suppose to go after Bin Ladin and that Taliban?

We'll we ever recover? Liberal Chrystie just does not know. I hope the good guys and gals are sincerely working real hard and fast in the background to restore some sanity and sense back to our once great nation. Guess that's all one has is hope, though it certainly should be a lot more.

God Bless Us, 'cause we really need ya now.

Liberal Chrystie is Back!

Shew. Its' been sometime since I've posted here on my blog and you know, I rather missed it. Besides moving, which was "something else," the dog and cats are settled-in enjoying the squirrels and robins (yes, robins in January if one can imagine on the middle east coast) as much as I look foward to Spring when I can get some much needed repairs done to this ole', but new place.

Checked my postings and was pleasantly surprised and quite honored to see 2 pertinent posters. So, without further ado it gives me great pleasure to suggest these highly significant, and in my viewpoint, two of the best Christian (slash) liberal web sites on the net.

First, there is "Liberals Like Christ." Written by "liberator_rev," if there was an award for those that have placed unimaginable amount of personal, gut-wrenching time, effort and earnest hard-work into, well, it's certainly this site. But, don't be fooled by the entry page. There is no possible way one can untertake everything Liberator_rev has to offer - no way, not in one sitting. So, visit and bookmark. You'll want to return again and again! Matter-of-fact, there is so much reading here, it might take weeks to gather it all in but worth every moment of your time. Besides, every now and then (everyday in these trying times) we all need a place to hang-out at, where we feel welcomed and at peace.

The second website, "Jesus Was a Liberal" is another outstanding place to visit. I was especially impressed with the welcome line which reads, "Defending classical American pluralistic liberalism from both extreme right-wing dogmatically-correct religious and left-wing politically-correct secular theocrats by appealing to the teachings of Jesus as the role model for ethical and rational dialogue in a democracy under the rule of law. Freedom for all of us, not just the elite." -- Wow. Created by Richard Mathis of North Carolina, you'll enjoy this site (hopefully), as I have.

Kudos to both. I've added a link on the right sidebar to both.

And, may God bless all... :)

Liberal Chrystie is back and I've really got my work cut-out for me now. Shew.
Taht's really putting it mildly.

P.S. Looking forward to hearing from one and all.
